The Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath release date and price was announced this week along with three new characters. However, a leak might already have tipped off fans as to who could be included in Kombat Pack 2.

But despite players on all platforms being quite clearly over the moon with this announcement - especially with three new characters dropping all at once on May 26 - there is one thing bugging them.

As noted by the games website, Robocop, Sheeva and Fujin are listed as Aftermath characters, not Kombat Pack 2 characters.

screenrant.com

Equally, past datamines of the game had indicated that MK11 could end up with 42 characters in total on the rosters. With the release of Aftermath, we're only up to 34 characters - and intriguingly, we might already know who is coming next.

One of the biggest leaks in recent weeks pretty much nailed every detail about Mortal Kombat Aftermath. This leak on Redditmade roughly one month ago, had virtually all details correct. Assuming this leak is the real deal, and to be honest, given how much detail it got right it seems a fair guess to say it is, we could see Havik and Daegon released in Kombat Pack 2.

The only detail which is wrong, concerns Ash Williams from Evil Dead, but further leaks in the past week suggest that legal issues more on that further down could see the Ash Williams deal derailed, with NetherRealm turning to Mike Myers instead to replace him. If all of that wasn't tantalising enough, the same leak from roughly one month ago also mentions more characters being worked on for the final Kombat Pack in It reads:.

This pack will also come with three new story mode chapters that let you play as, and against, some of the DLC characters in the confines of the MK11 plot which are all being worked on as we speak. For now, read on for a further explanation on why Ash Williams might no longer be in the game, despite being heavily rumoured for months.

In an interview with FansidedCampbell has quite candidly identified that it could be due to rights issues that Ash Williams has not made it into Mortal Kombat If it is not through my agent or proper channels than it usually means its wishful thinking.

Still, fighting game fans have remained hopeful that there would be more characters to come. All of this has remained speculation for the time being, but some new in-game evidence has been found to suggest that there may be some truth to the initial rumor.

The lines seem simple enough, as they give a nod to Batman who is someone Raiden was featured alongside in Injustice 2. He's a friend. While this reference isn't shocking given that Joker is a playable character in MK11it's the exact same dialogue that was found in the datamined code that seemingly ousted all of the existing MK11 DLC characters and several others that have yet to appear.

The only thing that strikes fans as odd or perhaps convenient is that the actor behind Ash Williams, Bruce Campbell, has flat-out denied that his character will be in Mortal Kombat Of course, if there is a second Kombat Pack, then it's possible that more unconfirmed fighters will also join the fray. Of course, many have been anticipating that more characters would be joining Mortal Kombat 11 ever since the initial datamine and corresponding dialogue report appeared online last April.

Spawn arrives as a downloadable character in Mortal Kombat 11 on March 17, I've been writing about video games for over nine years, and as a result I've apparently been able to trick people into believing I'm knowledgeable in the field. Related Topics Game News evil dead mortal kombat mortal kombat About The Author I've been writing about video games for over nine years, and as a result I've apparently been able to trick people into believing I'm knowledgeable in the field. However, for so many reasons, this sounds too good to be true.

With Spawn releasing in just a few weeks' time, it seems safe to say that we are entering a time period where Kombat Pack 2 rumors and leaks will become more frequent until an official confirmation. As such, it would be wise for fans of Mortal Kombat 11 to begin raising an eye at every leak that comes about, so here's a breakdown of the most recent leak.

First off, it's worth mentioning that there is no guarantee of a "Kombat Pack 2. The closest thing to confirmation of it existence comes from a leak that pre-dated its release, which accurately detailed the entirety of the first Kombat Pack, but had three extra characters: Fujin, Sheeva, and Ash Williams.

Beyond that, fans should keep their expectations in check, as while this current leak is based on the idea that the second pack would also be 6 characters, there's really no promise of that. As far as leaks go, in conjunction with the aforementioned pre-release leak, Fujin and Sheeva are practically a shoe-in with Ash Williams to a lesser extent.

Audio files for Fujin have been found in Mortal Kombat 11Sheeva is already in the game, and despite his actor denying the fact, Ash Williams has appeared in a Google Ad. Barring any unforeseen circumstances with Ash Williams, these three characters are the closest to confirmed for the Kombat Pack 2.

That said, this doesn't mean much for the current leaked roster, as any fake leak would require these three characters to be consider viable by the MK11 fan base. That doesn't necessarily mean he won't be, but there's little reason he would be as well. He is mentioned in-game a few times, appears in a few backgrounds, and has apparently gotten engaged to Jacqui Briggs, but has ultimately been regulated to a background character. Havik is a in a strange place where, if players squint their eyes enough, he could have been teased.

Namely, despite clamoring fans, Mileena is never likely to be DLC, and it's a known fact that Ed Boon doesn't care for Hsu Hao, making his return even less likely. The guest character aside from Ash Williams here is Michael Myers, which itself is immediately suspect as a result. In other words, it could be an attempt to mimic that pattern, and yes, it's true that Ash Williams sort of fits into the overall picture here.

It's true that a new Halloween movie is releasing on October 16,and as Joker did with Birds of Preyit would be a good cross promotion. That said, it seems like the low hanging fruit that anyone could just make up with some solid guesswork. It really depends here on how much Mortal Kombat 11 fans want more horror crossovers. Stryker is not listed as a DLC character here, but he's worth bringing up as a character that many think has been teased, leaked, and has a ton of info concerning a role in Mortal Kombat Stryker is not a popular character, per se, but his new revenant form shows a solid amount of potential for the character.

Furthermore, there's been hinting at his inclusion since before Mortal Kombat 11 released. Many thought that Stryker was going to be included in the base game, where rumors that John Cena would voice him in MK11 were everywhere. Then, Ed Boon has seemingly teased the character's addition as recently as December While this could have just been trolling, it would seem that Stryker has more going for his addition in Kombat Pack 2 than Havik or Takeda.

Mortal Kombat 11 Director Comments on Ash Williams DLC Situation

In short, this Kombat Pack 2 leak is incredibly suspect, has some decent guess work, but overall doesn't seem too likely. That doesn't necessarily mean it isn't legit, as strange leaks have come to fruition before, but the best thing Mortal Kombat 11 fans can do is wait and see what NetherRealm Studios has up its sleeves.

Let's take a look at Bohemia Interactive's latest patch notes to see what's changed.Rumour has it NetherRealm still has plenty of tricks up its sleeve to reveal once Aftermath is live. We've heard a lot about what NetherRealm is cooking up for Mortal Komabt 11 's next big content expansion.

The upcoming release — Aftermath — will expand on the base story of the latest MK title and introduce three more characters, too Robocop, Sheeva and Fujin. But once the expansion is released, what will happen to Mortal Kombat 11? Rumours and datamines have suggested that there will be a whopping 42 characters in the game overall. With the newest three characters included, the total character count only adds up to 34 — so when could the other supposed eight characters arrive?

To inform our guesses about when we could hear more about future MK11 content, it makes sense to look back at how NetherRealm has dealt with past post-release plans. With Mortal Kombat X, we saw the first character for the game arrive exactly four weeks after the game launched. The same was true of Injustice 2: the DC Universe fighting game released its first DLC character just over four weeks after the game formally released.

Now, we don't think it's going to be a straight four weeks post-Aftermath until we see a new character land in MK11 — after all, adding in three characters then launching another one a month later is over-saturation. But NetherRealm is still going to want to keep interest in its title alive, so we reckon it makes sense for them to simply announce the new character about four weeks after Aftermath is live on the servers.

Also, there are a slew of rumours about Warner Bros the publisher behind MK11 circulating at the moment, including whispers about Injustice 3. The leak suggested that Hitman 3, Batman and MK11 Aftermath would all get shown in or before June, with Injustice being held back longer. Aftermath has already been revealed, of course, but if Warner has more to show, could a Kombat Pack 2 announcement piggyback on the other games' reveals? A leak on Redditmade roughly one month ago, suggests we're going to see the likes of Havik, Daegon and Mike Myers join the gametoo.

So there's a lot of information going around at the moment, and you'd be forgiven for thinking some of it may need to be confirmed or dispelled sooner, rather than later. Our Privacy Notice explains more about how we use your data, and your rights.
